This has been a very long weekend!! I was looking forward to having some extra time off work to get things done around my house, but things were not as planned. On Friday after sleeping i got up only to find that my fancy shmancy blackberry phone forgot how to turn back on. I was phone less for over 24 hours and then had to go into the store to get it checked out. 2 stores later i had a new phone. It was a different color than the original, but at this point with two crying, hungry kids i didn't care about he color!! we made it home in time for the kids to crash for a short nap while i tried to clean up, catch up, etc..., in which Matt called and needed to take my car to dinner with the guys at work. (he was the designated driver.) So my free time ended up being cleaning out the children's toy/food./garbage infested car so he could take it. He ran home took the car and was off. When he got home the jeep had a flat tire....hence no break on Friday...
Saturday i got up and got the kids dressed, i then very skillfully loaded the tire that was my same size into the trunk of my car to go get it fixed. Big O took it and said they would be about a half hour so we ran to Roberts for a little entertainment and returned 40 minutes later only to find out they hadn't even looked at the tire...hence once again i have two crying, hungry kids in tow again!!! We went to Wendy's and had lunch with my parents. Porter crashed in the car from not getting his morning nap. When we got home i did manage to get them both to sleep for an hour in which i laid down with Porter because he just wanted to be held. By dinnertime i still had not gotten anything down when Savannah started complaining her ears hurt...they have both had boogery noses for a couple days. So off to the Instacare, then to walmart to get prescriptions for both kids....double, double on the ear infections!
So as for tomorrow...Church first thing in the morning, home to hopefully get some naps, maybe clean up a little since it didn't happen the previous days, and then drop the kids off at my moms so i can go to work! The Christmas Spirit is lacking and so is the money now!!!
What a crappy weekend...i hope next week will be better with Christmas and all.

WInCo and Chex mix anyone..
Today we ventured out to the new Winco store in Midvale. It was about a 30 minute drive, but i had heard they had really good deals and i thought if the deals were good it would be worth the drive...well at this point i'm not sure it's any better of a deal than going to walmart and price matching. Some things would have been cheeper if i price matched, but overall ig ot my 2 weeks worth of groceries, plus 2 hams and everything for christmas eve dinner for 150.00. so overall nott oo bad...the drive makes it sixes..
Also, Savannah and i also made chex mix today. About 3 years ago our neighboor brought us some gooey sweet chex mix and for the past 3 years i have been searching out a recipe to make some of the same. I think we finally hit it on the nose this year because savannah wouldn't stop eating it. I finally had to give her a little sandwhich bag with some in it that was hers! I put the rest away..of course we won't mention how much i ate, but i was getting a little worried that there wouldn't be any left for Matt when he comes home tomorrow afternoon!

Dance Class
Today Savannah had her dance recital. It started in the morning with a dress rehearsal. During this rehearsal they took pictures of all the girls together and then individually. This was also the first time that Savannah had ever been on stage. So, of course me being her mom i was worried about stage fright, not remembering what to do, etc... Well after the rehearsal we headed home to get some lunch and during the drive Savannah and i had a little conversation....
Mom: "Savannah do you want to keep going to dance class after the recital?"
Savannah: "no, i don't want to do dance."
Mom: "why don't you want to do dance?"
Savannah: "I don't want to do dance class, i just want to do the stage!"
Mom: "you have to do dance to be able to dance on the stage."
Savannah: "oh, okay..i want to go to dance class so i can do the stage!"
She cracks me up! No stage fright. She loved every minute of it and when the recital was over she informed us that her favorite part was when "all the people clapped for me!"
I think she's gonna follow in her Aunt Amber's footsteps! she loves the stage!

the latest....
so i have been totally awful with updating my blog. What's new with that?? So the past little while, especially after working this last weekend and having only 10 hours of sleep in 2 1/2 days, and my parents being completely exhausted after watching my kids (who of course don't sleep the best in an unfamiliar place) i have been contemplating dropping one more shift. I have thought about it over and over...of course the only downside is less money (and i really think i have a spending problem!), but the positives are numbered. I really want to be home more, use my family less for babysitting, and i would be able to take my kids to church, something that doesn't happen often with matt working every weekend and me working every other. Savannah starts primary this year and i would love for her to be there every Sunday.
So what is holding me back....the uncertainty of Matt's jobs. This job should last hopefully untill hs decides to leave it, but with the history behind us i am having a hard time letting go. It wouldn't be easy to pick shifts back up again! I did however drop my insurance for this coming year and Matt will carry the benefits for us.
Am i crazy for having such a hard time making this decision??? It seems like it is so obvious!
